About Me
For decades, I viewed life as a series of events to be accomplished in order to “arrive” and then “live a happy life”.
I believed that checking those boxes – college, graduate school, career, marriage, parenting – would lead to happiness. I learned from my family “the ways things are done”. In some ways, this served me well; in others, not so much. It never occurred to me that I could say “no”, that I could do things differently, and that I could make choices based on my likes/dislikes, on my values and strengths, and on my goals and dreams.
But then others helped me see that I could live in alignment with my true self. For more than 10 years now I've been living a life free of alcohol, exploring who I am and why I do what I do, changing behaviors that no longer serve me, and implementing new ones that do.
